On 23 January 2017, PZU SA and Polski Fundusz Rozwoju S.A. signed a shareholders’ agreement. The Shareholders’ Agreement constitutes a part of the documentation relating to the transaction for the purchase of a major shareholding in Bank Polska Kasa Opieki S.A. by PZU SA, acting in a consortium with PFR, from UniCredit S.p.A.
The Shareholders’ Agreement has been concluded due to the fact that the intention of each of the parties is to:
- build up a long-term value of the Bank;
- implement towards the Bank a policy aimed at ensuring the development, the financial stability and the effective and prudent management of the Bank after the closing of the transaction for the purchase of shares in the Bank from UniCredit; and
- ensure appropriate corporate governance standards at the Bank.
