Polish insurers increased 6M net earnings in the life segment by nearly 3% y/y and by 9.3% in the non-life segment, a Polish Insurance Association’s report shows.
The gross written premium is down y/y in the life sector, but technical results on insurance rose following a steeper decline in claims, the very reverse of trends in the non-life insurance, the data suggest.
A significant rise in non-life claims was blamed on severe weather conditions. Fire and storm protection claims rose 5% year on year.
