At the beginning of February 2017, Andrzej Jurczyk resigned from his position as CEO of UNIQA – a Polish insurer. His duties have been taken over by Jarosław Matusiewicz, a vice-president of the company. On 1 March 2017 he became the UNIQA CEO. He is responsible for insurance technique and such departments as IT, human resources, projects and marketing.
Matusiewicz graduated from the Academy of Agriculture and Technology in Olsztyn (now: the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn). His career began in PZU – the biggest Polish insurer. He was connected with the firm for 13 years. Matusiewicz is a member of the Insurance Guarantee Fund’s council. Jarosław Matusiewicz started working at UNIQA in 2013 as a managing director of claim settlements. In 2016 he was appointed vice-president of the company. He was responsible for claim settlements, insurance products and underwriting.
Also, on 1 March 2017 UNIQA’s Supervisory Board appointed Anna Demczenko company CFO. She replaced Małgorzata Michalak-Bartkowiak, who had assumed a board advisory position in 2016.
