The Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) published data of the Polish insurance market in 2017. It consists of information about insurance brokerage in 2017.
31,873 agents were entered into the KNF agent register at the end of 2017. A year ago it was 32,298. Half of them were working for one insurance company. 6,371 of them sold life insurance products and 8,502 products from the P&C sector. 17k people worked as a multiagent in the last year. KNF deleted 91.5k people from the register.
In 2017 the number of brokers grew from 1,367 to 1,417. Most of them worked as insurance brokers (97%). The others worked in the reinsurance sector. Last year KNF passed 76 permits on running broker activity; 3 times less than 5 years ago.
