On 1 July 2017, AIG entered into a strategic partnership with Colonnade Insurance S.A. to manage policies for AIG Poland. The change is connected with an agreement between AIG and Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited to acquire certain assets and renewal rights with respect to the portfolio of local business written by AIG Europe in Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
“Please note that effective 1 July 2017, AIG entered into a strategic partnership with Colonnade Insurance S.A. to manage existing policies for AIG Europe Limited’s Poland Branch. As part of this move, the previous AIG team now forms part of Colonnade Insurance and will provide you with continuity of service” – we read on AIG’s website.
As part of this move, there is no change to existing policies. Also AIG Europe Limited is no longer offering renewal of existing policies as well as new policies in the general market in Poland. AIG and Colonnade have engaged in cooperation to ensure AIG clients receive the same standard of insurance cover in insurance products offered by Colonnade.
Also AIG informed on its website that the Polish branch of Colonnade Insurance S.A., a strategic international partner, provides support for and handles AIG global insurance programs managed in Poland.
