Ten groups of insurers were responsible for 25.3 percent of the global non-life insurance sector’s total direct gross written premiums in 2020, according to Insuramore’s ranking. This result is 0.2 percentage points lower than in 2019.
State Farm, PICC, Allianz, AXA, and Berkshire Hathaway Insurance are the largest insurer groups, respectively. They are followed by Ping An, Liberty Mutual, Progressive, Allstate, and Tokio Marine. Last year’s written premium of these ten groups was about $480.8 billion. The non-life sector’s global result is about $1.9 trillion.
In the past year, the automobile insurance sector led the way, in order: State Farm, PICC, Progressive, Berkshire Hathaway Insurance, and Ping An. The largest groups in the home insurance sector were four U.S.-based groups: State Farm, Allstate, Liberty Mutual, and USAA, and one group based in Europe: Allianz.
