The Polish Chamber of Insurance and Finance Intermediaries (PIPUiF) was registered in 2002 and operates under the Boards of Commerce Act of May 30th, 1989. The companies affiliated to the Chamber cooperate with more than 12 000 insurance and finance intermediaries.
Since 2003 the Chamber has been a member of the Brussels-based European Federation of Insurance Intermediaries (BIPAR), founded in 1937. BIPAR is an association of 44 national organisations which in total represent 250 000 insurance intermediaries. BIPAR is also a founding member of the World Federation of Insurance Intermediaries (WFII), which has more than 100 national organizations from 80 countries, representing over 500 000 people working in the insurance intermediation industry.
