The Insurance Guarantee Fund (UFG) has published the results of its activity in 2017. One of the important problems is the growth of accidents caused by uninsured and unidentified drivers.
In 2017 the Fund paid out PLN 170 mln for motor vehicle damages caused by uninsured people. Last year the UFG liquidated nearly 8,000 motor vehicle damages. The Fund paid out compensation for 5,300 claims. Most of them were caused by uninsured drivers (80%).
In 2017 premiums paid to the UFG by motor vehicle insurers increased. Insurers who sell motor vehicle insurance paid out nearly PLN 200 mln. This is PLN 30 mln more than in 2016. Last year the UFG noted the growth of premiums paid by foreign insurers. In 2017 they paid PLN 6.3 mln. The year before it was PLN 3.8 mln.
According to the UFG, motor vehicle insurers earned PLN 15 bln in 2017 , which is PLN 2.6 bln more than in 2016.
