Franz Fuchs began his career in the insurance industry as an actuary 46 years ago. As a specialist for life insurance and pension funds, he held leading management positions in the international insurance industry before joining the VIG Group. Since joining the VIG Group in 2003, he has been primarily responsible for expanding the Polish market. He was appointed to the Managing Board of VIG Holding on 1 October 2009. He has worked in executive functions for the VIG Group for around 17 years.

‘It is thanks to Franz Fuchs’ excellent development work, high level of insurance expertise and strong affinity with the countries he serves that the VIG Group has developed outstandingly in his regions. In all the markets for which he is responsible, the VIG Group is now one of the top 4 insurance companies. This remarkable development would not have been possible without his great commitment. On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I would like to thank him for his many years of successful cooperation’, said Gunter Geyer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vienna Insurance Group.

Franz Fuchs will maintain close ties with the VIG Group. He will continue to advise the Group and to exercise Supervisory Board mandates in VIG insurance companies.
