Several natural disasters occurred in Poland in May. These mobilized insurance companies to take special action to quicken claims liquidation for damages caused by weather conditions.
The insurance companies: PZU, Warta, Generali, ERGO, AXA, LINK4, UNIQA, TU Europa, Condordia, TUW „TUW” and Aviva increased the number of helpline staff. They also estimated claims based only on photos sent by the injured parties. PZU said that in all cases the claims were settled within 24h of the damages being reported.
The PZU Group was prepared to pay an advance sum of PLN 2,000 for each customer affected by the natural events and run a special hotline of 50 consultants dedicated to the flood victims. Aviva said they were receiving twice as many claims as usual, and to speed up the process of claims liquidation, many formalities were eliminated, minor damages being settled after one simple phone call and photo evidence.
