The initiators of a new payment organization are changing their priorities and turning to services that use instant transactions.
The operator of the future European payment system – EPI Interim – stated that ultimately only 13 institutions have confirmed their desire to build an organization that would compete with American entities. Whereas earlier more than 30 institutions declared their willingness to join.
Moreover, EPI Interim issued a communiqué concerning changes in the shape of the emerging entity. Initially, it was supposed to be an organization offering cards, mobile payments or instant P2P transfers in real time. Currently, shareholders interested in the project focus their attention on building a payment solution that uses instant payments. So EPI Interim adjusts its scope and objectives to the new idea.
