Poland’s private pension funds OFE transferred PLN 559 mln to the social insurance board ZUS under the pre-retirement asset shift in July, ZUS press office informed PAP.
The OFE funds, in turn, received PLN 277 mln in premiums from ZUS in July.
OFE pension savers within ten years of retirement have their assets systemically transferred from their pension fund to ZUS on a monthly basis. ZUS will handle eventual benefits payments.
OFE funds still receive a portion of the monthly social security premiums from those workers who opted to remain in the OFE pension fund system.
