BNP Paribas has announced that it prepared its API interface for third party providers (TTP). It is obligatory for banks under the PSD II.
Banks have to provide their production API interface by 14 June 2019. It is regulated in the PSD II directive. Earlier the institution should have shared their test API. Almost all banks in Poland have fulfilled this duty. So far the production API was made available only by BNP Paribas. Probably Alior Bank and Santander will show their IT environment soon.
API make it possible to access a bank customer’s account. Thanks to that fintech companies which obtain a special KNF license, may offer various payment services or other services that require a customer’s financial transaction history. Currently no fintech companies have obtained the license.
