Bank Pekao appointed Leszek Skiba as the new CEO, while to-date helmsman Marek Lusztyn and Krzysztof Kozlowski will serveas deputy CEOs.

Skiba joined Pekao as deputy CEO mid-April, having left the position of Poland's deputy Finance Minister which he had occupied since 2015. In the Finance Ministry, Skiba was responsible for macroeconomic policy and tax legislation. Skiba will serve as acting CEO until obtaining an approval from financial market watchdog KNF.

Lusztyn, the to-date CEO that replaced Michał Krupiński in late 2019, was named deputy CEO in charge of risk management, pending the KNF consent. Lusztyn had already served as Pekao's deputy CEO in the years 2017-2019.

Krzysztof Kozlowski, the newcomer to the management board, previously served as the secretary of state in the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.

Pekao also took resignation from deputy CEO Marcin Gadomski, who will still remain the bank's employee.

Pekao also appointed Grzegorz Janas as the new chairman of the bank's supervisory board, the lender said in a separate filing. The position was recently vacated by Paweł Surówka, insurer PZU's ex-CEO, who stepped down on April 16.
